In the Nursery this week we have been focussing on the topic of “Our World” and enjoying activities that explore the cultural backgrounds of the children in the setting.
The children enjoyed a taste of France this week in our café and were excited to try croissants and brioche.
We explored traditional foods from different countries during malleable activities that included noodles from China, pasta from Italy, rice from India and even pretended to make our own Pierogi (Polish dumplings) from flour and water. It was very messy!
We were very lucky to have a visit from Eleanora’s mum this week who spoke to the children about Italy and shared some children’s stories and songs with us in Italian.
Our role-play area was transformed this week in to an English castle complete with crowns, a throne and our very own Princess Charlotte!
The children even made a trip to Africa to see some African animals!
