Tubbenden Nursery’s Got Talent!

The Nursery children concluded their exploration of the topic ‘Show Time’ this week with a ‘Tubbenden Nursery Talent Show’ in front of all their friends!

Children (and teachers!) took turns to show off their groovy moves, singing voices, magic tricks and even some Tae Kwando moves.

Band on the Run, Tubbenden Choir Conquer Croydon!

On February 9th our excellent Brass Band joined forces with children from Darrick Wood Junior School to open this year’s Bromley Schools Proms at the Fairfield Halls in front of an audience of over 1500 people. On the same evening members of our Junior Choir joined forces with children from other schools, including Warren Road Primary, to perform a number of original songs.

Under the direction of Sonja Perkins,  who leads the band at Darrick Wood Junior and was ably assisted by Dennis Mycroft, Michael Dolovich and Faye Scott from BYMT, the band performed ‘Hard Rock Variations’, ‘Funky Town’ and ‘La Bamba’.

Both performances were full of vitality and the children demonstrated great skill. We are particularly grateful to Mr Adams and Mr Nichol, who worked so well with the choir, and Mrs O’Leary who helped with supervision in the evening.

What an incredible experience! Well done children – we are very proud of you.

This has been a very busy term, We have had lots of fun learning about houses and homes.

Shiver Me Timbers! Pirate Day in Reception

Over the last three weeks, children in Reception have undergone intensive training to become a pirate!  They found a treasure map and made their own.  Then they went on a treasure hunt in the Early Years playground and retold their adventures.  After that, they got marooned on an island and wrote a message in a bottle.  Next they made their own pirate ship and tested it.  On Friday, they dressed up and talked like pirates, fired the cannons, climbed the rigging, walked the plank and finally followed the clues to sail the big bouncy pirate ship!  Congratulations Reception, you have completed your pirate training and are now official pirates!

 Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!
