The morning class have been focusing on ‘Down in the Jungle’ this week, learning the makaton signs for the song ‘down in the jungle’ and engaging in lots of jungle based small world role play. They have been extending their counting skills by making dens for animals and counting the amount of unifix cubes used. They also enjoyed engaging in a PE activity of ‘pass the ball’ through their legs to the ‘elephant’ behind! They also had a surprise when Jippy, the school therapy dog came for a visit!
The afternoon class have been engaging in activities based around the literacy focus ‘Stickman’. They have been re-enacting the story with their very own stickmen they made and we have also been on nature walks around the school finding different leaves, sticks and stones! They also enjoyed helping to make trees, and used the leaves from the nature walk to engage in leaf printing for our outdoor ‘Stickman’ display. They also enjoyed looking for insects with magnifying glasses in the nursery garden and found a worm who they decided to name ‘Wormy’
