The morning class have been showing a great interest in changes this week. We have looked at how jelly changes its’ form from a liquid to a solid and what happens to water when it freezes. They thoroughly enjoyed coming in to find our water tray had frozen over which they all helped to smash. As they have also been sorting items from the classroom into pairs, they all had a go at pegging pairs of socks onto a washing line, sorting them by their size and pattern.
The afternoon class have been comparing heights of different objects around the nursery this week so as a class they arranged themselves into height order by choosing one person at random then working out if each of them were taller or shorter. As the children have also enjoyed playing on our bikes in the garden they also enjoyed the opportunity to draw road markings on the path outside with chalk which they then carefully followed.
