For our World War topic, Year 6 visited the Museum of London, Docklands on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th October. As part of our William Ware workshop, we learnt all about William’s childhood and his style in painting.
William’s childhood was mainly spent in hospital until the age of ten. For his tenth birthday he received a colourful set of paints, which inspired him to use the many colours in an effective way. However, he was extremely wonderful at painting. During our workshop, we studied his paintings in advance of using his style to paint our own version.
Our paintings look amazing now that we have added the foreground detail in William’s style.
