Tubbenden at the Kent Primary Schools’ Final Gala

Swim 2 Swim 1

On Saturday 22nd March, swimmers from TPS competed in the Kent Primary Schools’ Finals’ Gala. The team, comprising Zoe, Tamryn, Eddie, Barnaby, Callum and Ryan were competing against the best in Kent but certainly did not let this intimidate them.

First up on the blocks was Callum, followed by Tamryn in the  50m Fly – both gaining places in the final. Eddie, Ryan and Zoe all competed in the 50m Backstroke. All swimmers gave a really impressive performance.

The boys’ Freestyle and Medley Relay teams, comprising Callum, Eddie, Ryan and Barnaby, won places in both finals.

The finals were tense and exciting with the team loudly cheering their team mates on. We are pleased to say that Callum came second in 50 Fly with a Silver Medal, Tamryn received a finalist’s medal for her 4th place in 50 Fly, and the boys won Bronze in the Medley Relay and Silver in the Freestyle Relay.

The swimmers were presented with their medals by the Chairman of the Kent Schools’ Swimming Association.

The boys were delighted that their freestyle team have been invited to represent Kent at the SE divisional meet next month.

A massive congratulations to all swimmers. They did their school proud and really enjoyed the experience. Thanks to Mrs Van Selm and Mrs Baronti for team managing poolside, and to parents and family for their support from the gallery.
