On Tuesday 20th May, all of year 2 went to the Tower of London. We went on the train to London Bridge station, then walked across London Bridge looking at the amazing architecture and sights of London. When we got to the Tower we explored the White Tower, the Crown Jewels, the Bloody Tower and we even met a real knight! He told us about what life was like in medieval times and how the castle was built. We learnt a lovely dance and were the star attraction for the other visitors. We really enjoyed meeting the ravens and learnt why they live there. We also heard gory stories about people having their heads chopped off! Overall it was a fantastic day…even if we did have very achy legs afterwards! We would like to thank all of the parents that came along to help with this excellent day.
During International Week, Year 4 held an India Day. Activities included Bollywood dancing, creating Rangoli patterns, sampling a variety of Indian food including vegetable samosas, nan bread, onion bhajis and pilaf rice, and making Indian sweets. Take a look at the photographs to see the children in action.
