In The Nursery This Week

In the nursery this week we have been exploring the topic of stories and the children have enjoyed activities such as making gingerbread men, Goldilocks and the 3 bears role-play and playing with story sacks. We have been talking about the way stories are structured and some of the children have been trying to make up their own stories!

We have been engaging in lots of food art and maths activities this week including using different coloured grapes to create repeating patterns, decorating biscuits and exploring fractions by dividing sandwiches in to equal pieces.

We have been very excited this week to start using our new interactive white board! The children have been having great fun catching butterflies on the touch screen and counting them to compare to quantities and exploring phonics activities.

The topic of stories will continue next week with lots more activities planned to explore the children’s favourite books.

Having read stories about bears we made honey sandwiches and explored division by cutting them in half and quarters.
