This week we have been exploring the topic of “Colour” in the Nursery and the children have enjoyed a variety of activities including mixing colours, learning what weather makes a rainbow and discussing how colours make as all unique and special.
We added primary coloured paint to bubble mix solution and mixed them to create secondary colours by blowing the bubbles on to sheets of paper. It was lots of fun and a very messy!
The children compared skin, eye and hair colour and discussed their similarities and differences.
The children created colour wheels and spun them to observe how the colours mixed together.
The children created a tally chart to show what their favourite colours were using the interactive whiteboard. They then discussed the results and identified which colours were the most and least popular.
Some of the children completed “colour by number” sheets. They had to complete simple sums to find the number and the corresponding colour which was very tricky! The children were very proud of their achievement when they finished their pictures.
