On February 9th our excellent Brass Band joined forces with children from Darrick Wood Junior School to open this year’s Bromley Schools Proms at the Fairfield Halls in front of an audience of over 1500 people. On the same evening members of our Junior Choir joined forces with children from other schools, including Warren Road Primary, to perform a number of original songs.
Under the direction of Sonja Perkins, who leads the band at Darrick Wood Junior and was ably assisted by Dennis Mycroft, Michael Dolovich and Faye Scott from BYMT, the band performed ‘Hard Rock Variations’, ‘Funky Town’ and ‘La Bamba’.
Both performances were full of vitality and the children demonstrated great skill. We are particularly grateful to Mr Adams and Mr Nichol, who worked so well with the choir, and Mrs O’Leary who helped with supervision in the evening.
What an incredible experience! Well done children – we are very proud of you.

This has been a very busy term, We have had lots of fun learning about houses and homes.
We have made houses for the three little pigs,
And then took turns to test whether they were strong enough to stand or they would fall in role of the ‘big, bad wolf’
We also enjoyed acting as the three little pigs and hiding in our own house,
This term we have also been practicing our fine and gross motor skills during ‘write dance’ sessions-
We have taken part in lots of celebrations this week,
We watched lots of Chinese dragon dances and then made our own.
We enjoyed making our pancakes…..
And choosing our topping….
But we liked eating them more!!!
Well done Yellow Class for a super half term!
