Nursery Weekly Newsletter 28/06/19

Dear Parents and Carers,

Morning Provision:

This week, the children have been practicing their jumping and counting skills. Using the number mats, the children were tasked to jump to the correct number.

In the role play area, we have been discussing starting school this week. The children tried on different school uniforms and used exercise books to practice writing their name.

One of our parents very kindly offered to come in and talk about her career. The children enjoyed hearing about how she designs and prints clothing items and enjoyed having a go themselves at designing a tshirt.

Afternoon Provision :

After a lot of interest in wildlife this week, especially frogs, we looked at a slideshow containing information and facts about different animals who live in the pond. The children also enjoyed getting messy in the art area, making junk modelling frogs and insects.

In the literacy area, the children have been extending their fine motor skills, enjoying some threading activities and attempting to make one and two colour patterns.

Both Provisions:

Both provisions were excited to go and watching the Junior children’s performance of ‘Tubbenden’s Greatest Show’. Everybody involved did an incredible job and children thoroughly enjoyed singing along to the songs from ‘The Greatest Showman’

Home Learning:

There will be no home learning this week except to have fun and enjoy the sun! We’d love to see photos of the children enjoying the sunshine and the different activities they’re doing.

Photos of these activities or any other exciting news can be emailed to

White Tshirts:

On Monday, please could send your child in with a spare old white plain tshirt. We will be using fabric paints to create our own designs.

Jewellery at Nursery:

Please can we ask that children do not come in to Nursery wearing jewellery or anything around their neck i.e sports day medals. A few are getting lost and it can also be a health and safety hazard while taking part in PE or playing in the classroom.

Froggy Update:

As our tadpoles have now become frogs, Friday afternoon we released Freddie, Ping, Daisy, Minnie and Hoppy into TWiG. (the Tubbenden Wildlife Garden). We hope they’ll enjoy their new home, hopping around with some other frogs who have just been released from other classes.

on Thursday and Friday we sent home brown envelopes containing reports to the parents of children who will be leaving us at the end of July. Please could we have these signed and returned as soon as possible so we can send them over to your child’s new schools.

September Starters at Tubbenden School:
