Here are some of the exciting and multi-sensory ways that we have been learning all about Food and Harvest.
We have been reading and writing stories all about food!
We made jam sandwiches and egg and cress sandwiches for “the Giant Jam Sandwich”
and ate them at a picnic with our parents
We read “The little Red Hen” and acted it out
We pretended to run a market stall like the one we read about in the story “Fatou, fetch the water”
We made food that began with ‘p’ like ‘pizza’ and ‘potato’
And of course we got messy
What a busy term! Yum Yum
Thank you Yellow Class!
Miss Davison 🙂
The children enjoyed having the animals from Nepicar Farm visiting the school:
Walking Rosie the Sheep
stroking the guinea pigs
To start international week and our learning about America, the children were able to present their homework projects to the class:
What a great start to the Christmas season. Last week the Infants held their Nativity shows. Reception, Nursery and some members of Yellow Class became sheep, camels, donkeys, cats, cockerel as well the normal Nativity characters. Whilst Year 1, 2 and some members of Yellow class became Angels, Shepherds, Kings, donkeys, Innkeepers, soldiers and Stars.
The shows went fantastically and the children performed very well. A big thanks to the parents and carers who provided such wonderful costumes.

Welcome back Yellow class! This is how we have begun the new half term:
We used a variety of painting tools and colours to make these firework pictures.
We learnt how to make an instruction “cook book” for chocolatey cakes!
There was lots of mixing!
It was very tempting not to eat them before they were finished!
We have been learning the story of Cinderella, we enjoyed acting out different scenes and making our own magical wands!
Can you guess which scene this is?
We wanted to share a few photos to show the different things we have done over the past 8 weeks.

The /p/ sound has been lots of fun this week. First we made a cheese and tomato pizza!
First, we spread our tomato puree!
Then we asked for cheese – we learnt the Makaton sign!
We put them on a baking tray to cook!
Finally, they were ready to eat!
Here we are making a ‘pineapple punch’
..We made some party bunting using 2D shapes
You can’t have a picnic without sandwiches! We learned the signs for Jam and ham to choose our filling!
We spread our own butter and jam very carefully!
